Macomb County Board of Commissioners
The Macomb County Board of Commissioners required the publication of bimonthly newsletters detailing the Board's actions, services, and available applications. I was responsible for creating the copy and graphics in a GovDelivery email system to send to more than 20,000 registered users.
Due to the dry, governmental nature of the material, I also began including a segment of community highlights, particularly those that would paint the Board in a positive light. For example, I once included a segment about the Detroit Institute of Arts, adding that due to the Board's approval, County residents were able to access the museum for free.

This is an oldie but a goodie. During my time in undergrad, I served as the secretary of my university's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. My role involved managing all communications.
Although we had no email system for me to create high-quality designs, I had full creative freedom with the tone of the copy. As you can see, I had a lot of fun with it. I even had people tell me they looked forward to these emails every week, which for dry material like this is pretty exciting!
